Introduction to Irish Flute and Tin Whistle

This workshop will cover the fundamentals of playing the wooden flute and tin whistle including posture, hand position, breathing techniques, and an introduction to ornamentation. Seán will also discuss some finer points of Irish flute and whistle playing while teaching dance tunes from the Irish repertoire. Preferably, participants should bring a tin whistle (no recorders, please) or wooden flute to the workshop though advanced silver flute (Boehm system) players would also benefit from this class.
