Fiddle from Scratch 2
Instructor: Elizabeth Lovelace
Sun., February 12, 2:45 p.m. - 4:45 p.m., $35 ($60 for both of this instructor’s workshops).
In this second workshop, we will begin to explore rhythm. Elizabeth will teach the single shuffle rhythm heard in a lot of fiddle music and will also show you how to play on the back beat. Then we’ll put both into "Boil the Cabbages"! We will listen to samples of different styles of fiddling, and Elizabeth will share tips on playing with others. Depending on time and the group’s wishes, we will end with a Shetland fiddle tune "Bonnie Tammie Scolla" or learn how to jam over "C Jam Blues".
