Beginning Ukulele 1

Summer Session!: Four Mondays, July 12, 19, 26, August 2, 7:45-8:45 p.m., $80.

Learn fundamental skills to get you playing ukulele! We'll work on rhythm, strumming patterns, and some fingerpicking. With a few basic chords you can play along with others and accompany yourself on a multitude of songs. Learn to find the right key for your voice, where the notes are on the fretboard, and how to pick out simple tunes. For ukes tuned G-C-E-A. A $2 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.

Starting Out With Your Uke

Four Wednesdays, September 8, 15, 22, 29, 6:30-7:30 p.m., $80.

Also daytime sessions, same dates, 12:00-1:00 p.m.

Learn basic skills needed to begin enjoying music with your ukulele. Explore two new songs each session, and learn how to read and play the handful of chords you need to play hundreds of songs! Learn to transpose a song to fit your voice and play familiar songs from simple scales.

Beginning Ukulele 2

Four Tuesdays, November 9, 16, 23, 30, 6:30-7:30 p.m., $80.

You know six or eight chords and a few simple strums. Learn more strums (calypso, bossa, swing), jazzier chords, how to arrange songs for the uke, and how to play with other instruments. For ukes tuned G-C-E-A. A $2 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.
