Tuning wrenches
Top: Custom tuning wrench with maple handle. Bottom: T-style tuning wrench.
Universal Harp Tuning Wrench.
Universal Harp Tuning Wrench detail.
Standard T-style tuning wrench: $16.95
Custom tuning wrench: Shaped for comfort and precision control, these wrenches combine the leverage of a gooseneck wrench with the greater direct-pressure capability of a T-wrench (necessary to tighten and re-seat taper pins). A sheath of clear plastic around the shank extends just beyond the tip to prevent accidental dents. Beautifully handcrafted, this wrench is made of maple or bubinga, with a star tip that fits pins with 3/16" heads (including all Dusty Strings models). Price: $42.00
Universal Harp Tuning Wrench: This extremely useful wrench adjusts quickly and easily to fit the tuning pins on any harp. No more searching for a source for a lost wrench! No more using wrenches that almost fit! No more chewing up your tuning pins with socket wrenches! Using the same ergonomic handle (made of bubinga) as our custom harp wrench, the Universal Harp Tuning Wrench is comfortable in the hand, looks great, and works like a charm. Price: $48.00.
Color and accidental rings

Red and Blue Color Rings on Sharping Levers.

Red and Blue Color Rings on Tuning Pins.

Accidental Rings on Sharping Levers.
Color Rings. Custom made in red and blue (like the C and F strings), these small rubber rings are designed to slip onto your harp's tuning pins or Loveland lever handles. When used on the tuning pins, they give you a color cue on that side of the harp to help with tuning. On the sharping levers they provide a quick visual reference which can be a lifesaver in low-light situations or when quick lever flips are needed.
Each package contains fourteen rings. We offer three color varieties of these useful rings. Most lever harp players like the set of seven red and seven blue rings. Pedal harpists tend to prefer the seven red and seven black set for their tuning pins. Those who want a more subtle-looking but effective tactile cue like the all black set of fourteen rings.
These rings position really well on Loveland levers. They also go on Truitt and Robinsons levers easily, although they slide up and down the shaft as you raise and lower those levers. They will fit all harp tuning pins, including zither pins.
Price: $6.95
Accidental Rings. Do you have trouble seeing (or remembering!) the sharping levers you need to flip in the middle of a piece? If so, you'll love our white and yellow Accidental Rings. Just slip them on the appropriate levers before you begin playing a piece to give yourself a visual cue of which ones to flip.
They are larger than our color rings so you can easily install and remove them between pieces. They even work on levers that already have a red or blue color ring on them. These work well on Loveland levers. They fit somewhat looser on Truitt, Robinson, and Camac levers. Now you can confidently flip on the fly! Set of five yellow and five white rings.
Price: $6.95

Dusty Strings Musician’s Stool
Call it a harp bench, a hammered dulcimer stool, a guitar chair, a drum throne, or anything else you like, it’s the Dusty Strings Musician’s Stool. Harpers, dulcimer players, guitarists, percussionists—in fact, anyone who plays an instrument sitting down—will love these. The thick contoured seat has a black velour covering with a “DS” embroidered in black thread. The seat spins freely and adjusts in height from 16 to 21 inches with the pull of a lever. A shock absorber adds comfort, and the cushion’s cutaway front relieves pressure on your lower thighs, promoting good circulation and excellent freedom of movement. Practice longer and perform in comfort. Do it for your derrière! Price: $215.00; optional padded seat back: $59.95; shipping to continental United States: $30.00.
Harp Amplification
We’ve dedicated a special section of our web site to the subject of harp amplification. Please visit the following pages to learn more about the options for amplifying your harp or to download the same information in our Harp Amplification brochure:
Ravenna Stands
The Ravenna stand quickly attaches to the base of the Ravenna harp with a twist of a knob. Made of black lacquered ash, they lift the harp to a comfortable playing height. They disassemble easily for travel and stow conveniently in the CD34 and CD26 cases. Ravenna 34 stand (pictured on the Ravenna 34 page) with 5 inch legs or Ravenna 26 stand (pictured on the Ravenna 26 page) with 12 inch legs. Price: $99.00.
Legs for the Ravenna Stand. Already have a Ravenna Stand and want some different legs for it? Dusty Strings now offers sets of four legs, available in 5-inch, 8-inch, and 12-inch lengths. They will fit on either the Ravenna 26 stand or the Ravenna 34 stand. Some possible uses: an unusually tall person might want to raise the Ravenna 34 up higher, and use the 8-inch legs for that. A small child might be too short for the 12-inch legs on the Ravenna 26, but be just right with the 5- or 8-inch legs. If multiple family members use the same harp, they can each raise it to the most comfortable height for them. Price: Legs only 5", 8", or 12" (set of 4): $48.00
Strings
If your dealer doesn’t stock replacement harp strings, you may order them directly from Dusty Strings. We sell harp strings in complete sets for each model we make, and also individually. Current prices are listed on our harp price list page. To order strings from us by mail, please download our harp string order form, harp_string_order_form.pdf (97 K) (*). You can also download our 4-page guide with information and diagrams on replacing harp strings, harp_string_replacement.pdf (74 K) (*).
If you’d like to learn more about our harp strings, please visit the string section of our harp features page.
Note: If you order a complete string set, don’t be alarmed if the set comes with fewer strings than you have on your harp. Since each replacement string is 46" long, and some of the higher notes are a lot shorter than that, one length of nylon can be used to string two or three notes. To keep your costs down we have included only the strings you actually need to restring the harp.
